Any idea if purchasing a LCD replacement, such as http://cgi.ebay.com/New-iPod-Touch-iTouch-1st-Gen-Replacement-LCD-Screen_W0QQitemZ260439325442QQcmdZViewItemQQptZOther_MP3_Player_Accessories?hash=item3ca364bb02&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A12%7C66%3A2%7C39%3A1%7C72%3A2149%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50 would work?

When i plug the iPod into my PC, when i click the power button, this is all that shows up. I have to actually hold the power button to keep it like this. When i took it to the apple store, they said its just water damage to the LCD, and can be fixed for 150$ ; obviously I said screw that, I rather pick up one of the eBay kits for 15$ bucks and fix myself. But before I do order the LCD kits from eBay, I just needed an opinion if it would help.
