Wait, can you take a picture of the cables? Make sure they're not knock offs or something like that. Did you purchase them in an Apple Store? How much were the cables?

Does that little trick where you switch the colors around work for the 2G iPod touch? I know this worked with a $2 AV cable for the 5G Videos.

Did you get Component (Red Green Blue + White Red) or Composite (Yellow + White + Red)?

he already stated that he got the standard RCA (Red+White audio / Yellow video)

There is a trick where you rearrange the Audio/Video cables on your TV... try all the combos you can... like Yellow in White, Red in Yellow, White in Red... like that.. the 2G was all changed around to prevent Jailbreaking, so you end up with messed up combos like that...

Yeah, you can use a hecka cheap AV Cable (I got one for $2), and basically switch the red and yellow around, and it works. This is because the iPod's circuitry is reversed to prevent any universal method of working, so you buy Apple's overpriced additions.

Plug the Yellow end in the Red socket.
Plug the Red end into the Yellow socket.
Keep the White in its place.

Tested and proved on my old 5.5G iPod Video.
