I just got an ipod touch last week. I have an Alpine stereo in my car, and I have a cable directly connected to the stereo for the ipod. When I plug it in, the music plays through the car speakers, and it sounds great. The problem that I am having is that when it's plugged in, the ipod says accessory connected, and I can't look at the music in my library to change the song.
Has anyone else had this problem? I need to know how to search through my music while it is plugged into the stereo.
I don't want to try an FM transmitter because I haven't had much luck with those in the past. Any suggestions?

They all do that make a playlist of music that you like and just play that playlist while in your car
