im having some problems untethering my ipod touch with redtool, im have Vista 32, i JB with cyw00ds jailbreak, and im using 2.2.1 on my ipod.
I went through the files and changed compatability ,like it said ,and ran as admin., like it said....but when i click on "build firmware" and put in my ipsw file, then i hit "build firmware" and an error comes up saying "Could not find part of the path....red.tool.bundle\CustomFW"....when i hit details it says my "jit" is disabled ,but i dont have the slightest clue what that means....
So what am i missing or doing wrong here?....anyone?

He's redTool's developer. Just in case you don't know who he is.

Even if jit is running, that doesn't help very much as far as making it work.

The first thing I would do is set the Admin/Compatibility stuff for redTool Updater.exe and run it. After it says redTool is up to date, try running redTool again.

I was just kidding. I have absolutely no idea what jit is.

Oh, I googled for it and found 'just in time', but was pretty sure that this was not the correct meaning here. Sounds like a useful tool. So know the user can finally debug their programs themself and after that send in the correction to the dev. That is what you call a win-win situation.

ok...i re ran the program and checked compatability like you said and it worked fine til i got to the end and it said "cannot restore error 1601"....i chose the CFW to restore with.

That probably means that you either didn't send the redsn0w patch or the iPod was somehow disconnected during the restore.
