    Hi there,

Cut a long story short my sister has put a lock on her ipod touch, her friends have played around on it and attempted to unlock it a certain number of times and now it is completly disabled. The only problem is that she dosnt have her original itunes due to formatting her laptop...is there anyway to get it working again without itunes?...i have asked her is she needs her pictures and so on and she is not bothered about it so please any suggestions will be greatly appreciated...

I'm sure restoring it will work!
    • ok so first plug it in to the computer
    • hold the home and power button for like 12 seconds (it'll turn off and stuff)
    • then let go of the power button and keep holding the home button!
    • then itunes will ask you to restore and do that.
I think after everything is done it'll ask her if she wants to use the back up of the ipod and she can get all her pictures back and what not

bro, I know how to read. He said without itunes because he thought it's not possible to use itunes since you need the itunes that you normally sync with to undisble a passworded ipod touch. but you can DFU restore with any itunes

Not without iTunes. Any computer with iTunes will work though. Enter DFU mode and restore.

Replace your "hosts" file in C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc with this one and try again.
