Last night, I tried to use this thing to update my 1st generation updated to 2.0 OS I tried to update it with this 3.0 firmware. I thought sync(ing) my iPod was backing up my iPod. But apparently it wasn't. And something went wrong, I tried to restore, and it keeps saying that something with my network went wrong. I tried to the force iPod in restore thing, but last night, and still after doing that it shows the plug into itunes thing. I do, and it still asks to restore iPod on my itunes, and my iPod isn't recognized. Help me please!

If it's in DFU mode, you just restore and everything is perfect again.

    Try:
    -Different USB cable.
    -Different USB port.
    -Different computer.
-Run off the the Apple store and ask for help (assuming you weren't jailbroken.

Yeah, but isn't it illegal to try to update without paying? I don't want to get in trouble.

Also when I try restoring, after like 10 min of trying to restore, the ipod go to black, and a few min after that is when it says the network stopped working.
