    Hey Guys,

I just got my 2gen Touch and I am loving it. I am, however, having some trouble setting up Air Share.

I'm on Windows XP and I follow the on screen directions. I go to "my network places" I click "add a new network" and then I type in the address for Air Share that it gives me. But all I get is an error that basically says "the folder is not valid."

Does anyone know what I need to do to get Air Share to work on my computer?

Have you tried the Bonjour service ip?

    I think it's http://iPod.local:8080.

Try not to give up setting it up if you can - it's a truly great application simply because you can view almost any filetype on your iPod!

Yes, I've tried that one as well with the same result. I really want this program to work. It would definitely help me out with school.

Hmm, well maybe my step-by-step instructions could help you more.

    1. Open up Air Sharing (while connected to wi-fi)
    2. Get the specific ip (or go into settings.app, and get your ip but type :8080 at the end)
    3. Go to "my network places"
    4. "add a network place" (you should STILL be connected to air sharing (put auto-lock off))
    5. Click next
    6. Click "choose another network connection"
    7. Click next
    8. Type the ip Air sharing gives you
    9. Click next
    10. Name the folder etc
    11. It'll do it's job
    12. Double click the network (i named mine "iPod Touch")

And you're done. You can drag, drop files etc.

I am following those directions you gave me to a tee. It is still saying the folder is not valid when I type in the IP address.

Hmm, are you connected to the same wifi connection as your computer?

    I finally got it!

My IP wouldn't work but I got the Bonjour one to work.

I guess my problem was that I wasn't on the screen on the iPod that actually showed the two folders "Private" and "Shared." Once I was on that screen and I tried the IP it immediately connected.

Thanks so much for taking the time to help me. It is greatly appreciated.
