So I finally decided to update to 4.1... bad idea. (iPhone 3Gs 4.0 -> 4.1)

I did a clean DFU mode shift + click restore to 4.1, and it got stuck about 60% through.

I then tried doing it by the "normal" way by just clicking restore and letting Apple download the firmware and upgrade it. Still stuck.

    Any ideas?

P.s. I googled this and none of the "solutions" worked!

Restore to 4.0, then restore (clean download) to iOS 4,1 and save ur SHSH!

So you were jailbroken? Do you have wifi sync? If so uninstall it. If not do what the guy above me said.

Uninstall wifi sync from your computer if you have it. That can cause that issue.

You can't just uninstall Cydia tweaks from your computer when your device is in such state.
