My Ipod was jailbroken and working fine until I tried to connect to my Universities wireless network the other day. The network requires web-browser authentication. I opened safari and entered my username and password. As soon as it connected the safari window started zooming in and out by itself and scrolling. I immediately hit the home button and applications started opening and closing by themselves. I restarted my Ipod and the touchscreen no longer worked properly and apps started opening by themselves again. I came home and restored my Ipod twice. But every time I connect to my wireless network, which was working fine before this incident, the IPod starts going crazy again. CAN ANYONE HELP PLEASE!!!

There aren't any viruses for the iPod yet.

My guess is that it is just a software defect, and you should exchange it for another one.

How do you know? maybe he did install an "app" that is really a virus made by someone who doesn't want others jailbreaking their ipod touches. There is always a possibility. However, it is most likely a software defect as you said
