When I downloaded the new Firmware, I waited for it to DL and then I got an error, Somthing about it not being able to transfer to the ipod. Since then, my ipod hasnt been detected by me PC Or Itunes.

    Any help?

Try rebooting the iPod (Turning it on and off.)
Restart the computer, change USB ports, etc.

Then plug the iPod in once more, and it should be detected. If not, then post back.

Also, is the iPod normal, does it have the restore logo (Connect to Itunes pic) or is it just the regular homescreen?

Place the iPod into DFU mode.

*iPod must be connected to Comp via USB cable and have iTunes open.
    1) Hold the Home and Power (top) buttons for 10 seconds
    2) Continue holding the Home, but let go of the Power (top).
    3) Hold the the Home button for 30 seconds until a popup in iTunes appears.
    4) Select Check for New Firmwares and proceed to restore.

After restore, everything should be normal, and you should be set on 2.1

First off, this can easily be fixed with a Restore.

Secondly, Apple is a company focused on a profit and isn't that naive, anyone who "breaks" their iPod will be the happy new owner of a Refurbished 1st gen Touch.

    Try it once more.
You'll know it's in DFU Mode because the screen will go black (No restore pic) and a popup in iTunes will appear.

    Demonstration here
(Same process for both the iPhone and Touch)
