I suspect what I am asking has a fairly straightforward answer but I am terrible with technology and thought this would be the place for the right answer.

Basically, I have an ipod touch and would like to download films onto it from itunes. However, I am currently abroad and so would need to download itunes onto a new computer (as it doesn´t seem possible to do it directly from the itunes store in my ipod, correct?). Is it possible to plug my ipod into the computer with a blank itunes and for all my songs to survive the process? This is what I am mainly concerned about, I cannot go without my music for the next few months! I am not fussed about uploading my music onto the new itunes.

Thank you in advance for your help.

If your iPod is set to automatically sync with your home computer, then do not plug it into a computer with a blank iTunes.

But, if it is set to manually manage music/video, then go ahead.

How do I find this out? And can I change it so it is manual?

You can download videos directly from the iTunes app on your iPod.

Only on 3.0 and it'll take a long time. You can do it through the iTunes store (purple icon) on your iPod.

Thanks for all your help guys. I have tried looking at the itunes store on my ipod, but only music seems to be available... I´ll have a play around anyway and see if I can power through my technophobia!
