ok so i had my touch on my radio chargin and listening to music... lalala...

then it just kinda turned off... so i tried reseting it, and now it just keeps resetting itself, it will start up, light up the screen... black but lit up... then flash white and turn off...

see normally id bring this to walmart and get a new one from warranty... but it will occasionally show my custom connect to itunes thing for like 3 seconds and then turn off again...

and the bottom left corner from the edge to the home button is really hot.

oh and it is an ipod touch 2g running 2.2.1 jailbroken if it matters
the battery has like no life even though it is plugged in ( i caught a glimpse of the 11% battery life when my custom logo showed)

what do i do to fix it?

if you could please email me at superdog29@aol.com that would be greatly appreciated. since i dont get on here too much anymore

It looks like it will completely fail soon so you can get a replacement

    sounds like a hardware problem.
you should think about taking it back for a new one..

see the problem with bringing it for a new one is the connect to itunes logo... custom and u cant miss it... so if they see that, then the warranties if void... so i cant get a new one

Follow this video tutorial to put it into DFU Mode.

And to all the other people that posted, no offence, but you should know what youre talking about before posting. The boot loop (or spinning wheel of death) is a common bug and will usually happen once with every person.

It is definitely NOT a hardware problem, and can be easily fixed.

After you manage to get it into DFU Mode (always possible), (might take a couple tries), press the RESTORE button in iTunes.

You will lose your jailbreak, but then again, its better than losing your iPod.

Good Luck, and I hope everything works out.

well it is extremely unlikely that you would get a hardware failure by setting it on a radio and playing some music so you should be able to get it in dfu
try holding both buttons for 7 seconds and then home for 7
that method has always worked for me, even when i got my ipod stuck in that resetting cycle that you are talking about
