i have an iphone 3g with fw 2.2.1 and baseband 2.30.03, i installed yellowsnow, then put in another sim card and it worked, does this mean that its unlocked on 2.30.03?

P.S. Aren't you that user who tried to have the lowest rep possible back when we had the rep system in place?

same here but i think since i bought mine from att and currently with att on an iphone contract, i think i can use any sim in it, my mom also has att and i put her sim card in and it worked perfectly so it must be unlocked after its activated when bought from att

You put an Att sim in your ATT iPhone.

Of course it would be unlocked.

You didn't try another carrier like T-Mobile...........

Yeah but, It worked because the phone is already activated right? If i were to have it not activated the other att SIM card wouldnt have worked. Correct?

Nope, just some type. Kudos for the conservatism.

    Anyway...

An AT&T SIM card will obviously work in an AT&T phone. That's pretty much the point. Unlocking is used by those of us who want the phone on a different carrier.
