Ok I seriously need help I can't find it anywhere else. My computer came down with a bad virus causing my dad to tottally restore the whole thing to its out-of-the-box condition. I redownload iTunes and now when I plug in my iPod (Touch 2g 3.1.2 jailbroken) I get a dundundun sound (on windows XP) and it dosn't appear in iTunes, it wont show up in My computer it wont charge, nothing. The strange this is that I can still open SSH onto it via winSCP. I have tried restarting my iPod and computer, Repairing iTunes redownloading iTunes and restoring my iPod nothing worked. It still charges via my dock so its not a huge deal except I cant back anything up or install anything new. Please help

have you tried checking either the usb port or the usb itself?

All that it means is the drivers are either corrupt or not installed.
Go into the Device Manager and see if the driver is there or corrupt.

    That's my first idea anway.

Hence the reason you can SSH, because it doesn't require drivers.

Just like what hotfuzz said look in the device manager. First connect your iPod then look.

I remember having this problem as well. That familiar dundundun sound.
