Do you have your SHSH saved with Cydia and are you using Saurik's server to upgrade the firmware to 4.0.1?

    What's the error your getting?

Ohh.. I did have my SHSH. I set the hosts to sauriks server. Then I restarted my computer and it worked. Thanks!

Edit: Actually its not done upgrading yet let me make sure I don't get an error. Hold tight.

Update: Okay great! It worked thanks, now I know you need SHSH to upgrade also.

Lol ok hopefully it goes ok! It's quite common to get an error 1004 after the restore which put the phone into connect to iTunes mode.

If this happens use Tiny Umbrella's 'Kick out of recovery' which will get it out of that state.

Let us know how you get on

Interesting... Have you tried a reboot - holding the sleep/wake button and the home button at the same time until the Apple logo appears in the middle of the screen?

Yep random apps just dissapeared... Could this be Apple blocking jailbreaks?

No it wouldn't of been Apple, maybe it didn't jailbreak properly?

It sucks but the best option is to do it all again - reinstall the firmware and jailbreak again... :/
