I haven't used an AV cable before, but my basic understanding is that you connect it to your iPod and to your TV. You set your TV to a video in channel, then play a movie/tv show/video on your iPod, and it shows up on the screen.

    1. Plug cable in both the t.v. and ipod
    2. open videos
    3. play movie

key thing here is that you cannot use a cable from the older iPods. if you upgraded to 3.0, then you have to buy apple's cable, otherwise, get the "rocketfish" cable ($8 on e-bay).
