Trying to Jailbreak a 32Gb iTouch running 3.1.2 firmware using Redsn0w which I've used on a few iTouch's fine. Problem with this one is that once I've gone through the sequence to get it in DFU mode as directed I get the message 'waiting for reboot' but it never does? I've left it for ages but still nothing. Then when I cancel and disconnect it, I can get it back working fine.

Any suggestions please? I know I'm doing it right as I've just done the same on an 8Gb iTouch so is this a 32Gb or the version of firmware causing the problem.

Is there a better way to do it?

Thanks but I've just read on another site/tutorial that it won't jailbreak an iTouch 3G ?

"This works for all iDevices, except for the iPod Touch 3G. This tutorial was made using an iPhone 3GS but again, it should work on all devices except the iPT3G."

How can I tell what version this iTouch is?

Blackra1n works for the Ipod touch 3g perfectly. However, it is a tethered jailbreak, which mens you can't turn it off and turn it back on without plugging it into a computer and running blackra1n. You can also tell what generation your ipod is by going into settings>general>about and scrolling down to the model. If it starts with an MC, then you have a 3rd gen.

Are you able to revert it to the standard Apple 3.1.2 firmware if you want to?
