Okay, I was having problems with my Notes, I couldn't delete or change them on 2G touch, jailbroken. So, I read a post somewhere that said to delete the notes.pb database file and it will recreate it.

However, now Notes won't even open and I can not sync using iTunes, I get an error saying iPod has been disconnected?

Any help is greatly appreciated, and have a Safe and Healthy Holiday season

DFU and restore is your friend....Try it, it really works!

Try changing the file permissions of notes.app to 777.
also try doing the same to notes.db and notes.idx

this should ALWAYS be your last option.

Actually, I think my notes app itself is gone. Where should it be loctaed on the touch? I can use diskaid to browse Touch.

If I dfu and re-break, will I lose all my Other downloaded apps?

The app is still there as I can create a notes.db but then it won't save anything and still gets error when syncing

Yes, but you'll be able to sync your iPod with iTunes so your apps in your library will be back.

Okay, I think the actual app is still there, but where is it located?

Also, I can sftp to device and create a notes.db and notes opens, but won't save anything and won't sync. I don't see a notes.idx file.

Thanks for your help, if you could explain to me how to use terminal to ssh to device and change permissions or create the db and idx files?

The app is still there, and I created a notes.db and notes.idx in var/library/mobile/notes folder (i think that is the path)

File permissions on all other apps is 775 I believe. I tried 775 and 777, and when I try to open Notes, it flashes and then does nothing.

I am using Cyberduck to ftp to it. I really don't feel like dfu and restore. I might have to though.

Well, I am not getting anywhere. And now, when I sync with iTunes, doesn't matter if I have Sync notes checked or not, I get an error message. But everything else seems to sync and transfer fine.

I located original Mobilenotes.app and transferred that to my Touch, but still just icon flashes when clicked.
At some point it did open but wouldn't let me save or change any notes.

If anyone can help, please let me know.

    Happy New Year
