All right i have had my Ipod touch for around three months now, been playing around with things and have been generally impressed but now i want to know about jail breaking, i looked at this for a bit before i bought it but just left it at that,

what i want to know is:

What are the risks surrounding jail breaking?
    What is the easiest way?
If there are any risks is it worth it?

    any help is appreciated.

There are almost no risks to jailbreaking, if something goes wrong just restore, the easiest way is to use blackra1n, once again theres virtually no risk to jailbreaking.

Hope that helps. Basically it means if your iPod touch dies or you need to reboot, you plug it back in and start up blackra1n and you reboot it that way.

sorry, but you have a ipt 3g 32 gb on FW 3.1.3

currently there is NO JB for that firmware.
and because you never jailbroke it seems that you don't have shsh hashes backed up on sauriks server, so also no downgrade for you.

    to make it short
Jailbreak on 3.1.3: only for ipt's with model # MA00000 or # MB00000, if no match: no jailbreak.
    Jailbreak on 3.1.2: model # MA00000 & # MB00000 = unthetered JB, # MC00000 = tethered JB
    replace 00000 with your number
Downgrade for ipt 3G: ONLY for 8GB
instruction: 1. download file called iPod2,1_3.1.2_7D11_Restore.ipsw (google it)
    2. open itunes on ipod tab.
    3. hold shift and click on restore.
    4. point to iPod2,1_3.1.2_7D11_Restore.ipsw
    5. let it do it's thing

For ipt 3G 32gb or 64gb on fw 3.1.3 without shsh hashes stored somewhere jaibreaking is a nogo

    hope it helped you,
