Hi, I recently bought a new laptop from HP and when i try to connect my ipod to it it doesnt detects it so i am wondering if the problem is the laptop or the ipod. What should I do? It wouldn't even show up in my computer.

Hmmm, put it to recovery mode.

Turn it off, unplug it from your laptop, while holding the home button down plug it in until the plug in to iTunes logo comes up and your computer will recognize it and you then need to restore.

This sounds blunt, but do you have iTunes installed?

I am very sorry for replying so late. I already tried uninstalling itunes and reintalling it but it still won't show up anywhere... All it does is charge my ipod and that's it.
