Hey everone, i got some kinda problem

DFU mode just won't happen, and I've been going into DFU mode for a while, Ok, so i tried upgrading to 3.0, but i got an error, so then i tried going back to my original JB firmware and something when wrong

Whenever i try to go into DFU mode the picture of itunes + cable picture pops up.
sometimes it just stays a blank screen and my computer still doesn't detect it.
PS: Yes i hold the home and top button for 10 seconds an continue holding home

can someone help me please? I'm beginning to lose hope

Hey kingd thanks for tryin to help, but i managed to solve the problem.
Well, I decided to restart my computer and try one more time. and to my surprise the ipod came up in DFU mode, so i just restored to nonjailbroken 2.2.1 and upgraded to 3.0, which worked, now its jailbreaking time

So thanks kingd, people who thought of helping, those who didn't, and those who laughed at my problem.

I meant to post this DAYS ago but my internet crapped out but ill post my reply anyway for poops and giggles

Umm, this may sound redundant but heres some things u can try:
    1) charge ur ipod with a wall outlet
    2) Restart your computer or itunes
    3) Do a search Im sure countless others have had the same problem
    4) If it's under warranty try sending it back if all else fails.
    5) This probably def. isnt the case but check to see if you're occasionally doing the DFU process wrong
    6) Yell and curse at it until it gets its act together
