ok so my iPod is on a 3.0 jailbreak and it worked fine for a long time, until my friend locked me out of it for an hour. Now it seems to freeze all the time, and the only way to turn it on is to hold both the power and the home button. Sometimes it freezes on the apple logo sometimes when im listening to music. I can can still hear the music but my ipod is frozen. Then i have to hold down power and home to turn it off. Also sometimes when i do get it on there is no sound with or without earphones.

I have tried restoring it and jailbreaking it again but this has not fixed the problem. Is there anything i can do?

    2- Restore on iTunes
Either click restore to restore and update to 4.0
    OR
Shift click restore to choose custom firmware if you have shsh blobs.

I did a DFU restore and that seems to have fixed the freezing, not turning on problem. But there is still no sound AT ALL on my iPod. I tried restoring to 4.0, 3.1.2 and 3.0. I also tried erasing all content and reseting all content

DFU restore to a fresh iOS4 without an iTunes back up. If that doesn't fix it then you'll probably need to get it replaced or repaired.

do a dfu restore. here is how.

    plug ipod in computer
make sure ipod is turned off
hold the home button for 3 seconds
then hold sleep and home for 12 seconds and then let go
itunes will recognise but your screen will be turned on and blank. If it says itunes logo, you did recover mode and you need to do it again.
