I did it! check out my last post if you are experiencing the same prob.

"Your iPod is not bricked, if it does not turn on, you may need to apply the boot patch properly (see question 2). If you are unable to restore in iTunes, it may be because your iPod is not in DFU mode. No person has ever bricked their iPod, use DFU mode and you can always escape with a standard restore with original firmware."

You're going into DFU mode wrong--it's not hold the power and home for 8 seconds. You have to hold the power and home for 10 seconds, and then release your finger off the power key while still holding the home button until your computer recognizes it. Even if your computer says that it doesn't recognize it, it's fine as long as iTunes recognizes it.

norflash is how you put your new bootlogo on.

its a partial restore... so it doesnt erase everything like a full restore does.

DFU - Home & Power 8-10 seconds (when screen goes dark) let go of Power but HOLD HOME for 7-8 more seconds. iTunes will tell u its in recovery. Windows Device manager (USB section) will show you the current iPod mode...(DFU, Recovery, etc)
