My sister gave me her ipod Touch 2nd gen for christmas SWEET Deal RIGHT!

she tells me you need to get on itunes and switch it to your account, so instead i was going to sync with itunes and just wipe the ipod clean and make it my own after putting her music on the computer so i could just throw it back on after i reset it back to factory... BUT IT WILL NOT SYNC not to itunes not to ipod copy not to nothing... if anyone has any ideas please...help

i have re-installed itunes restarted computer checked all usbs ( which the ipod never shows up in Device manager anyway) i've done everything i could find i've tried vista XP home XP pro... everything but a mac.... and i know its not formatted for mac. can anyone help me? quick way to reach me is thru email... ddtkeith@yahoo.com other then that i will be checking this post often thanks

Okay have you tried forcing it into dfu mode or recovery mode maybe then the iPod can be restored. And is the iPod jailbroken. Got some reason when I go to [PIRACY]us and switch the iTunes sync on or off then it usally syncs. Well that's what happened when my friends iPod didn't sync to my computer.

    Select your ipod in itunes
    click 'restore'
if your music is on your computer than you'll just have to resync

You are not jailbroken unless your sister jailbroke it so just ask her

Okay to see if it's jbed do you see an app called cydia or rock or icy?

And to force it into recovery mode hold the sleep and home button for 10 sec then hold just the home button then you will see connect to iTunes. Make sure your connected to computer.
