    My ipod touch 2nd genetration 8 gb won't restore it says an unknown error (6) occured. what do i do????

    Check here http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1275

    If no use try deleting the Libraries/iTunes folder altogether and try again.

    If still no use try another USB port on your computer, or try on another computer altogether. You may also want to try DFU restoring if you haven't already.

    One of those solutions should help you.

    Please don't post all over asking for help in multiple threads.

    DFU

    But first try deleting the .ipsw firmware file from your pc and redownload it... the firmware file shoudl be under C:\Documents and Settings\USER_NAME\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPod Software Updates or C:\Users\Username\AppData\ROAMING\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPod Software Updates and you may need to change folder options to 'show hidden folders'

    okayy Sorry,

    i did that and it didn't work.
    i don't know what to do i might just take it back to apple.
