ok, so my ipod touch is 3rd gen, 3.1.2 firmware, 32gb, jailbroken with balckrain, and is now stuck in recovery mode. it happened when i went to settings and wanted to erase ALL data, so i erased it and waited for the reboot and the "connect to itunes" thing came up as usual so i connected it, made it rain with blackrain and geohot came up as usual. so i waited and then a white, lodaing circle thing came up on the picture, i waited and waited and the circle finally froze... i put it in dfu mode and ried again. same thing, i tried to restore, but itunes wont restore it, so now its stuck in recovery mode and im scared as hell because my parents will kill me if they find its "broken" so please someone help me before i crie

Thats why you don't delete things like settings, especially if you don't know what it will do. Try another computer and make sure iTunes is upto date.

Just connect the device to your computer and restore it.

What is the ipod currently doing? Does it have the connect to itunes or is it in dfu? I did exactly what you did with the delete everything button. It's not broke. But did you say you tried to make it rain before restoring? That's just plain stupid dude. If your ipod says connect to itunes then connect to itunes and do what it says in there. It will say "itunes has detected an ipod in recovery mode blah blah blah" and then click restore which will take you to ios4, where you can now jailbreak with jailbreakme.com

Failsafe is to disconnect from computer, reconnect and hold both buttons down until itunes prompts you to restore. I've done it probably at least 2 dozen times dude. It's really not a big deal.
