Kay, so basically I am looking for a set of headphones (the big, over ear kind) around $100 to get for Christmas from my grandparents. I mostly listen to punk rock, but a lot of different types of hard rock music, and some poppy stuff too. Idk if that makes a difference, but suggestions? Preferably something that's easy to find cause I probably can't get them online ant I live in Winnipeg. Suggestion?

Sorry for sh*tty description I'm on the phone and writing this -___- difficult.

I was going to suggest some Grados because they are superb for rock and pop, but are you sure you won't be able to get them online?

Not positive, but it would be a lot easier to have them in the city since my grandparents aren't the most tech savvy :/ Maybe link me them?

Alessandro MS-1 are a modded verson of the SR-60i (i think, might be 80); not sure of the price. Denon D1001 are about $130 USD, might be a little pricey.

edit: Looked around and it appears that the MS-1i are now made from the 125i model?

Not gonna lie, that's Greek to me. I know absolutely nothing about headphones.

The MS1 is just slightly differently tuned, not exactly modded.
I found the AH-D1001 to be very comfy and rather bassy. It's definitely decent if you like that extra bit of bass.

They should be easily drivable from an iPod touch. I sometimes plug my HF2s into my iPod as a bedside rig, and that copes fine.
