Well top of the line would be something like an FX-62 (i think) or you could go Quad Core.

    check it out amd.com

AND FYI: Intel Quad core= 2 dual cores in 1 "box"
AMD Quad core= 4 cores in 1 "box"

the newest ati graphics card forgot which one but its around 500$

and get about 3-4 gigs or ram
and your pretty much set and for some more fun gaming go for a 22' monitor plus.

    AMD - cheaper cores.
    Doesnt exactly affect performance.
For normal gaming, i think its lyk dual core 2.4 GHz. That would be AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+

RAM. atleast 2GB 667Mhz should be fine. If you want it faster just buy a higher speed RAM.
    something lyk 800Mhz.

Video Card, it really depends on what game.
Cysis or Assasin's creed, these kinda of game would need a video card somewhat like 512 RAM.
And im not talking about the share video ram. Its the memory the video card has. The vram.
    So... Nvidia 8500 should work.
