If you see a battery on the top right. Just open itunes and it should start working.

Did you restore to the custom IPSW okay?
If you got the "okay to restore" logo on your iPod the first time, I don't see why iBooty wouldn't have worked the second time.

Erm.. try running iBooty in compatability mode for XP SP2 if you havn't done so already.
If the problem still persists, make sure you have all the necessary files in your iBooty folder.

Also, is there any particular error that iBooty is giving you?

I restored to the iPSW. but then clicked "restore from backup" after it finished the iPod restarted and i couldn't turn it on even with ibooty. it just went to a black screen after clicking "boot it" I then restored to 3.1.2 and tried to jailbreak again. when i ran iBooty no image appeared. the screen stayed blank. I have all of the files, as i found a premade ibooty folder. I will try running it in compatibility mode now...

When I click prepare device for custom firmware it shows a progress bar then says "Done" the iPod's screen is black and I don't see the image. What am I doing wrong?
