iOS 3.1 HELP!!! Jailbreak question.

    OK heres the rundown, i asked my mom if i could jailbreak my ipod touch and she said no because the police will arrest us if i do, is this actually true? because lots of people have jailbroken there ipods and they havent been caught yet.

    No..... Jailbreaking is not illegal unless you are stealing apps with it.

    Police also have better things to do than arrest people who hack a portable music device.

    Exactly what magic said. Jailbreaking itself isn't illegal, what you do with it, may be.

    its not illegal as everyone else here said. just do it and if she asks then just tell her its not illegal and if she is like my mom and still thinks it is then just let her think what she wants. ive been jailbroken since the first 2G tethered jailbreak with my mom being annoying since day 1. i do it anyway.

    wow, your mom is over-reacting. I think i read somewhere that jailbreaking is not illegal under the DMCA but they put that on hold or something.

    Anyways, how are the cops going to find out you jb'ed your ipod? Millions of people around the world have already done it. Heck, i even have a friend whose in the police force and has a jb'ed ipod.
