I was upgrading from jailbroken 2.1.1 to regular 3.0 and all was going well until the end of the upgrade when it says that and error occured. Now my ipod is stuck on the recovery logo and i've tried to put it into DFU mode but it keeps going back to the recovery logo and my computer makes the chiming sound to show that it's plugged in but it won't show up in itunes or anywhere else on my computer

You should've restored before you upgraded. Idk if it could affect it but jailbroken devices on 2.2.1 don't work with iTunes 8.2 properly.

DFU, downgrade itunes, restore 2.2.1, upgrade itunes, DFU, upgrade 3.0.

Get iTunes 8.2 and click Check For Update in the iPod tab. Then pay for the $10 update and download it.

DFU Mode is hardwired. You Must be doing it wrong. Follow this guide word for word.

And Yes - You NEED iTunes 8.2 for any of this to work, so do that first.

who doesnt upgrade itunes right after a new version its out?

and dfu neeeeveeer gets corrupt unless you are able to talk to the deviceĀ“s "heart" and write commands to it like an idiot!

dont worry, the day before yesterday i wans trying to re-jailbreak my ipod and i couldnt because i didnt have itunes installed and therefore redsn0w couldnt detect the status of my device

I waited until it ran out of battery then plugged it in and it said it was in DFU mode so i pressed restore and the same thing happened except when it said an error occured the device could not be restored i looked at my ipod and instead of the screen being all black it was all white
