    Hi!
I had a problems with my old ipod so I got a replacement item 2 weeks ago.
For first few days, it worked absolutely fine.
then somehow, it started to turn off randomly, and took forever to reset (I meant by holding home and sleep buttons together).
some random screens that I've never seen showed up - I uploaded the pictures of screen.
Also, I got the white messages saying "panic" "iboot" on black screen...
*it is 8gb 2nd generation that's been upgraded to 3rd gen.

I have no idea what is going on.
I put this replacement item's serial number for apple service, but it said it's been expired, even though I was supposed to have 90 extended warranty days. plus, I couldn't find my ipod's problem on their service category. display error? power error?

agian, it's only been 2 weeks since I got the replacement ipod, I'm frustrated and would rather have the old one back

Fully restore iPod with iTunes and see what happens.
  7. I'd say a full DFU restore is in order, I've never seen such weird CLI stuff on a boot screen before...

dude, don't be retarded...it costs the same no matter what retailer you buy iPods of any model from: apple, target, costco (actually they have a slight discount), or in your case, best buy.

Other than the free giftcards they offer w/ it for promotional reasons, no matter what iPod you buy or any apple headphones or whatever you can find at Apple store or not, they all cost the same.

    nope, I never jailbroke it.
I tried DFU mode and restoring it, but while iTunes gets ready for the restore, it automatically turns off with weird screen...
    restoring was my only hope

  10. keep trying...did you put it into (DFU) restore mode? Holding down the power and home buttons?
