    hi,

i bought the new ipod touch 4g three days ago, and the second i got home i jailbroke it.
then i went to the local mall, to buy a cover for it, and i noticed it kept turning off. i thought it wasw weird but only later oni understood it was turning itself off because it thought was of battery.
now constantly i run out of baterry when i still have like 50-40% left.
then i recharge it and after like 1 min it has 50%, and yesterday i left it charging all night and it didnt reach 100% only like 65 or 70%.

THE WORST PART: i somehow did something i NEVER EVER EVER thought was possible: i lost the receipt, so no returning.

Please , can someone help me?

if needed im willing to buy a battery off ebay and change it.

you don't need the receipt to return an iDevice, apple can use your Serial Number to find out everything about your ipod BTW. Try a DFU restore, also is this your first iPod? did you restore from an old ipod's backup? That can cause problems.

Restore and bring it to the Apple Store.

I'm 99% sure they'll replace it even w/o the receipt because it's covered under warranty for 1 year.

You should be 100% sure. You don't need the receipt to replace it

    . I've gotten a replacement like 3 times.

Yea apple store doesn't need recite. They just take it, check for water damage, then use the serial number to see if it's still under warranty. Also, try jailbreaking with greenpois0n

    ok so.....

i also have an 2g itouch. but i didnt restore this one at all.

i just conected it to my macbook and jailbroke it with greenpois0n.

and unfornately, in my country there arent apple stores..... so returnig like you say, without receipt is quite hard.

so you guys think i should restore it on DFU mode, and then jailbreak it again?

BTW: its and MC model, i dont know if it matters or not.

Restore (DFU to be safe) and test it. If the problem is still there, bring it into an Apple Store, you have warranty (No receipt required; Apple is cool like that

    )

Why can't you send it to Apple?

ok so, by DFU restore you mean:

    put it into DFU mode
then open itunes and click restore.

just that? and will i still be able to jailbreak it again afterwards?
