Well I tried jailbreaking my iPod Touch 8gb with Cywo0d on Windows XP but on the 7th step the screen on my iPod turned black. I don't know if it's in DFU mode or not because whenever I try to put it in DFU mode while it's connected to my computer it just says the USB device cannot be recognized and iTunes will not recognize it ether. I don't know what to do.

DFU, learn how to use dfu. even though the screen is black you could still use dfu. black screens do happen. make sure ipod is connected to the pc. hold power + home, 10 seconds later, release power and still hold home. wait until you hear a sound in your computer, the sound everytime you plug a flashdrive or a usb device. if that happens, your know in dfu mode. proceed with the next step. and by the way.. the screen is still black after that. just continue the instructions

I think it's in DFU mode now but iTunes still won't recognize it so I don't think I can restore it.

    Un plug your iPod.

Now, Get your Phone or Stopwatch. Press Start, Then Hold down the "Home" Button, and the "Power" Button. For 10 Seconds. You might want to add a second onto the time, As it took time to put your Timing device down, and pick up the iPod. (I Suggest 1 Second).

Now, Release the "Power" Button. Keeping your Finger on the "Home" Button for a futher 10 Seconds. Open iTunes. Plug your USB Cable into your Computer. Now, Plug your iPod into the USB Cable. Wait around 3 or so Seconds for iTunes to See your iPod in Recovery Mode.

    If this Still fails.

Un plug your iPod. Hold the "Home" Button, and plug in your iPod. Wait until iTunes Recognized your iPod. Has taken me up to 30 Seconds.

Now , Restore to Original Apple Firmware. Then Re-start the Jailbreaking process. Using QuickFreedom.

If you cannot get into DFU Mode. Your Are either:

    Doing Some thing wrong.
In Capable of following Simple instructions.
Or your iPod has a Hardware Related Problem.

Try Getting into DFU Mode, Until you Succeed. There is a 1% Chance of getting "Bricked".

To get "Bricked" is Next to Impossible. You actually have to try.
