Hi i've had my ipod touch 2g jailbroken for 2 weeks or so (tethered ofc)
So everytime it shuts down I need to connect it to computer, DFU, and use Quickboot (or type in the commands)

Anyways, just now the ipods battery depleted.
So I walk to computer, put Ipod in DFU (Home+power button for 10 secs)
Use quickboot.exe (White screen popup, everythings alright.)

Itunes gives error the ipod is not recognized (Thats what its supposed to do)
And after this the ipod **SHOULD** boot! But it doesnt.
What the hell happened? I always did it like this, and I rebooted the ipod at least 20 times since its been jailbroken.

Summary: Ipod doesn't boot, after dfu mode it goes to a white screen but then doesnt boot.

    help?

Okay this is weird, it does boot now.
It just took me ~5 times.

I'll jailbreak it from tethered to untethered now, hate the f-in dfu's etc

Find a NOR only IPSW and you can go to untethered without loosing anything.

Yeah it happend to me too, it's just when the booter sends the commands too fast, that's all, if that happens again just use manual booter / another booter / Untethered!
