Try rebooting the device, then turning the wifi on, then accessing the store.

Has the Wifi ever worked? Or do you have a wifi connection but cannot get out to any web pages or Itunes?

I ask cause I too have a new Ipod Touch and I also had that same problem "Invalid Argument" when trying to connect to a web page or the itunes store.

Unfortunately for me it turned out to be a bad Ipod and I had to return it. Now my new one works perfectly.

If you keep getting that "Invalid Argument" message it may be a hardware errror on the Wifi side of that device.

Yea exactly.... I understand. Thats what I'm saying. Your Wifi does work yes but when you try to access any thing the Ipod won't go anywhere. It just sits there looking like its connecting but never really goes anywhere correct?

Thats the same problem I had. Its a bad Ipod return it.
