I don't use my internal speaker a lot, primarily sticking to headphones. However, recently, I cannot get it to function. My headphones work fine, but when unplugged, I lose volume control. The music and video apps show no volume bar without headphones. Any help?

Are you sure you have the 2G iPod. Also typically, when you have some sort of accessory plugged into your iPod, the volume bar doesn't show.

Yes (and they work for headphones)

I noticed something interesting: when you double-press home and the volume controls come up, it says "dock connector". It's not connected to a dock!

Your iPod thinks its connected to an accesory.

Do a hard reset (hold home and power until it goes black and restarts (ignore slide to power off)

After it restarts, if its still doing it, you might need to put it in DFU Mode, restore it to official firmware, and rejailbreak.

    Good Luck,
