i was going to download the 3.0 firmware for my ipod touch 2g, but forgot to put it in DFU mode before i "restored" the firmware.... so now my ipod screen shows an iTunes icon and a USB cable. I can turn it of and back on, and it still shows the same picture, even if it is connected to the computer or not.

It also says "The iPod software update server could not be contacted. The server does not support this version of iTunes" when I connect my iPod to itunes (i tried 8.2 beta and 8.2)

    HELP ME!?!?!

    * It won't pop up in iTunes, so i pretty much can't do anything??

Based on the way you speak, I know you're not a dev.

Anyways, you must be doing DFU mode wrong.

-plug in your ipod to your computer

-10 seconds hold the home button and sleep/wake button

-let go of sleep/wake button but KEEP HOLDING the home button until itunes recognizes your ipod.

You don't need to be a dev for this one..
