Help. I ended up in Recovery Mode instead of DFU mode.

    Where did it say you were in recovery mode? In iTunes? If so, then they are exactly the same thing. You are good to go.

    try to get it into DFU, it doesnt matter that your in Recovery, getting to DFU still works

    Turn off your iPod/iPhone and then try it again...

    Not that difficult...

    as stated before, just retry gettin into DFU, your current state/mode doesnt matter
