Err, If you have your 3.1.3 firmware then go on iTunes > Your device > and click Restore while holding Shift > locate your 3.1.3 firmware and select it.
You can but youll get an error 1015
i need help with this too. It said the device is not eligible for this built. Someone help please.
so there's no way to downgrade?
Sorry, Couln't resist, had to make a account just to help you. Anyways, I had the same problem, I was hyped up about the ios4 but then when I actually got the firmware installed it wasn't what it was advertized as, My jailbroken ipod touch can do more than the ios4.. the reason you are getting these errors is because apple has begun to sign the firmwares so once you upgrade you can't downgrade, unless the firmware is signed by apple and is from the apple site. What I found out is that the 3.1.2 firmware is unsigned as of yesturday.. I snaged that and downgraded.. and so far its good and even though its a lower version, it works. I downloaded it from the Felix website, or the Wiki website. :]
what do you mean by signed firmwares?
Its like the idea of banning jailbreaking- they don't want modded firmwares on iDevices, its like a electronic signature thats compiled in the firmware distributed by apple, and itunes now uses that, if there is no signature then no downgrades or upgrades.
i downloaded the 3.1.3 firmware from felix website and i get the error when i tried to restore. is the firmware signed?
yes, I believe anything above 3.1.3 is signed I used the 3.1.2 and its not. Be careful, we arn't allowed to speak of firmware from other sites.
