    Can anyone help...

I recently had probelms with my iphone 4G and had to upgrade to the new 4.1 software with the help of umbrella...

But now i can't re-jailbreak my device and wondered how easy it would be to revert back to the 4.0 software?

I guess an untethered 4.1 jailbreak is a while away?

    Thanks

If you didn't backup your shsh blob for 4.0, its impossible. If you did, search around on this forum for a tutorial on downgrading with blobs saved.

I chose the option to 'Make My Life Easier' on cydia but did not save any blob onto my PC!

In that case, you can restore to 4.0.

    1. Download TinyUmbrella from here: http://thefirmwareumbrella.blogspot.com/. The downloads are on the right side.

    2. Run TinyUmbrella and connect your iPhone.

    3. Wait till TinyUmbrella recognizes your phone. When it does, click on "Save My SHSH". TU will retrieve the SHSH blobs you saved on Cydia.

    4. After you have the SHSH's, click on "Start TSS Server". Keep TU running and open iTunes.

    5. In iTunes, Shift+Click on restore and select the 4.0 firmware file and click OK. If you don't have the firmware, here's the link: http://appldnld.apple.com.edgesuite...100621,Vfgb5/iPhone3,1_4.0_8A293_Restore.ipsw (I'm assuming you had 4.0 before and not 4.0.1).

    6. Just wait for the restore to finish and jailbreak as usual.

If you encounter any problems, please post here. Good luck!

How did you fare with the downgrade?

My wife has iP4 and I hit the "make my life easier" in cydia. I recently upgraded her to 4.1 in hopes to fix her proximity sensor issue. 4.1 didn't fix it. So I want to get her jb again. Will tue instructions above work with a Mac?

    Sry to hijack op!
