Hi. I have an iPod Touch 2G (bought in July 2010, MC Model, 8GB), currently with 3.1.3 Jailbreaked with Spirit, and I have lots of Cydia apps and other apps.

I didn't update to 4.0, because I heard with was really buggy, slow, and that kind of stuff. Also, that it didn't had compatibility with most of the Cydia and App Store apps.

But now 4.1.(?) is out, and I heard of multiple tools that can jailbreak it, but I got a bit confused about all that, and Google just confused me more.

I simply want to update to the lastest version, jailbreak it and then restore my apps. How can I do it?

Please give me some tips... And can I have multitasking and the other iOS4 features?

Also, the app compatibility, the bugs and the slowness are all pretty much fixed, right?

Just a folk who is all confused, needing some help.

    Thanks.

By chance your name isn't saiman, Simon or David?

Upgrade to 4.1 and jaIlbreak with a tool named greenpois0n.

    What's the last FW? 4.1.?

I have that thing from the hashes or whatever from Cydia saved, too. And can you answer my other questions, please?

Tomorrow I will jailbreak it... Thanks.

You can have native multi-tasking if you jailbreak.

Thanks. And how do I backup all my apps (including the Cydia ones) and the all FW with all in it (in case I want to go back)?

Well i dont believe you can back up cydia apps but when you open itunes (10.2) and click restore with your ipod connected it will ask if you want to back up or not, do that for normal apps, just write the names of your cydia apps and themes down. when you click restore it, when you click yes it will update for you to 4.1. For the jailbreaking i suggest limera1n. it is what i use.
