    Hi

Just got a 16GB iPod touch for my birthday today and have been dying to use it.

Installed ITunes and then proceeded to charge the ipod. It's now been charging for 10 hours and each time I turn it on, the apple appears for a brief moment and then splits into two and the screen goes all distorted. I then just get a blank white screen . I am using USB 2 on my computer to charge it and assumed it would take a few hours but 10 hours is a bit much.

    Any ideas ?

Try putting it in DFU mode and restoring it.

    1. Connect iphone/ipod to your USB port, then listen to the sound when it connect and disconnect.
    2. Hold the 2 buttons until hear disconnect sound then release power button.
    3. Wait until you hear the USB connect sound then release home button.

    DFU mode:
Hold down the home and power button for 10 seconds.
Let go of the power button while holding the home button.
In about 20-30 seconds iTunes will recognize it and you can restore.

Have tried this a few times now and keep getting a distorted screen. Switched onto itunes and it says 'ITunes has detected an iPod in recovery mode. You must restore this ipod before it can be used with itunes'
