Ok, So I am somewhat completely clueless on what I am doing as this is my first ipod ever.

I bought a used, jailbroken ipod touch yesterday. The guy I bought it from explained to me that I had to run iRcovery/Goofball to turn it on if I ever decided to turn it off, seemed simple enough. I tried restoring the ipod today, it then powered itself off. Ive tried running goofball to power it on, noticing it says I must put it into DFU mode (this Im not sure if Im doing right either), but it just keeps saying no iphone/ipod found.

I at a loss and don't know what to do. I've contacted they guy I bought it from but hopefully I can get a response from all you guys faster

    DFU MODE =

Hold Power and Home Button for 10 seconds
Release Power button and hold Home Button
On your comp you should hear an sound after you here that sound its in DFU mode!
