i've already posted the post a week ago, but there wasn't any answers.
i want to Downgrde my ipod touch 1gen to 2.2.1 (3.0 rocks still) but i just find 3.0 a little glitchy in JB terms. i have itunes 8.2, and this is my method:

    i put in DFU mode,
    connected it with windows vista.
    Holded shift and clicked restore,
it extracted it, then prepared my ipod,
then i get an error. (code:1600)

i have paid for the officle firmware, and i hear that i'm not the only one that has this problem.
i wonder if there something on the PWNage tool that can restore my ipod.

    any/all help apprecited

Here is what worked for me.

I used the last 8.0 version of Itunes on a computer that had not had Itunes installed on it before. Put the Ipod into DFU mode, In Itunes, Shift Restore, pointed to the 2.2.1 fimware. First time I got an error 1602. The second time it downgraded it.
