I just cracked open my ipod touch to repair the home button and when i was taking the mainboard off i ripped a small cable in the top left corner of my ipod touch. so i thought nothing of it because it booted and the home button worked but when i tried to go on line it couldnt find any wifi so is there any fix or do i need a new main board?

Well not to be obvious, DON'T open up your iPod unless you know what you're doing. Unless you can resolder that wire, you'll just have to buy a new iPod

well, you could get apple to look at it. I have an ipod touch but I never took it apart. So,I think you might need to take it to a repair shop or have apple replace it.

You might be able to take it back to Apple and they will replace it.

That is, if it isn't too obvious that you have opened the device before.
    Then they wouldn't really know.
