    Wow.
    Some dumbass.

If youre smart enough to do that, then whyd you do it on a 3G.
You can try uninstalling the drivers and plugging it in, but after you change the USB serial youre pretty much done.

    Oh.. DFU Mode.

Turn it on, you have the recovery screen.
    Plug it into your computer.
Hold down home and power buttons until the screen goes black.
After the screen goes black, wait 1 second, then release the power button... keep holding home.

Continue holding the home button until you hear a beep on your computer. Hopefully (i doubt it), it will install the DFU Drivers and youll be able to do a fresh restore through iTunes.

Look here for info on the app. If you look it says the drive only option changes iPhone device USB product ID. So if you didnt use that option it didnt change the USB serial. I tried this last week but it said the beta had expired and I couldn't even use it.

First of all why would you change it into a Mass STorage Device?

this is done. ive done the impossible and literally permanently bricked the device. it's over and im taking it back for refund thanks anyways (yes i chose drive only)

EDIT: if someone could make a thread and then frontpage it to warn people not to do this that would be awesome and it would save a lot of ipods and iphones

DFU works because it is hardware and not software. I doubt it is bricked.
