Well I'm new here [my grammar probably suck], and I need help...
I'll be getting iPod Touch 2G in few days, and I wanted to do some preparations.
What I need is a way to convert my anime (.mkv with .ogg/mp3/aac) to iPod friendly format. Tried bunch of programs, but problem is that there is no subtitles

. And how am I supposed to watch Japanese movie without subs?!
If someone knows some good trick/way/progz, I'll be very thankful.

If you really want to convert MKV files + keep the subtitles properly the way they are shown in the MKV when watching on a computer, you'll need the proper tools. I've been doing this on Windows, since I can't find a proper Mac alternative. What you need are:

    What I've been doing is:

    1. Extract the subtitles (& if any, fonts also) with MKVExtractGUI
    2. If there are any, install the fonts that come with it.
    3. Open Xvid4PSP. Click Open and select the MKV file.
    4. On the left side, change the output format to MP4 iPhone/iPod Touch.
    5. Go to Subtitle in the menubar, select Add Subtitle, and select the subtitle file.
    6. If you want to do more than one file, click Save and select a destination, then repeat the process.
    7. Once you have the files queued up, click Encode.

    Hope this helps.
