Hi there everyone! My name is Meliss and I'm new to this type of foruming platform, so I hope I manage to get this posted correctly.

My son bought a 1st generation Ipod Touch (16gig) on ebay. It worked properly when he received it. He downloaded an Iphone application to it and now it doesn't respond. When you plug it in to the computer Itunes says that it needs to be restored. We go through the motions of restoring it and get the error (5) message that says the Iphone (it's not an iphone) can't be restored. I've uninstalled all three Apple Apps, Itunes and Quicktime to be sure we're using the most current version and it still doesn't work? Any other troubleshooting suggestions we could try? Right now, when it's turned on all you get is the Charger and Itunes symbol thingy. Sorry for my non-technical-eese and thanks for any help in advance.
