    Hi all,

Looking forward to getting some help from these forums, I've heard lots of great stuff about it.

I bought an iPod Touch, 1st generation running 2.2.1 firmware last week. I was using it moderately and of course, I treated it with the utmost care. Today, however, I noticed a crack, coming from the bottom right-hand side to the Home button (whatever you want to call it, the only button on the iPod). I never threw the iPod, and I never did anything remotely abusive with it. My question is, will Apple replace it free of charge? There is no water damage, nothing except that huge crack.

    Welcome, enjoy your stay.

If Apple consider that the damage has been caused by negligence (e.g. dropping the device) they won't replace it.
